FAQ

What are eyelash extensions?

At Londin Lash Studio, we only used the softest quality silk lash extensions in an array of lengths, thicknesses, and curls. They are attached to your individual eyelashes with a specially formulated bonding agent. Professionally applied extensions create longer, fuller-looking lashes that don't require makeup to look amazing.

These professionally applied extensions are not like the self-stick false eyelashes. Eyelash extensions are applied to each of your existing lashes, close to but not touching the eyelid. They do not damage your natural eyelashes and do not require much maintenance.

Are extensions permanent?

No eyelash extensions offered at an eyelash salon are "permanent" because they are attached to your natural eyelashes, which fall out naturally over time. When your natural lash falls out, the lash extension will fall out with it.

These extensions are, however, much more durable and wear longer than self-stick eyelashes or one time specialty eyelash attachments. They will thin slowly over 2 to 3 weeks, at which time you can come back to Londin Lash for a fill to keep your lashes looking naturally beautiful.

How are eyelash extensions applied?

At Londin Lash, experienced eyelash technicians will meticulously attach each eyelash extension to an individual lash with a specialized bonding glue. Care is taken to place the eyelash properly so that it looks natural and does not adhere to the eyelid itself.

Eyelash extensions should only be applied by trained technicians. Please feel free to ask our technicians any questions about our safety standards before you get started.

Can anyone get eyelash extensions?

Anyone with natural eyelashes long enough to attach an extension can wear them. Different styles, thicknesses and lengths are available depending on whether they are for making a statement or just to thicken and lengthen your natural eyeline.

If you've recently undergone any eye surgery or have experienced any eye infections, we advise that you wait until your eyes have completely recovered before you get extensions.

Are there risks? Do extensions damage my natural lashes?

In a professional studio, there are very few risks to getting extensions. Eyelash extensions are applied by a trained technician and our studio adheres to the highest safety and cleanliness standards.

When applied properly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural eyelashes.

To extend the life of your extensions, do not use oil based makeup or makeup remover, as this may cause the bonding glue to release; do not perm or curl the extensions; continue your regular eye care routine but be mindful when rubbing your eyes or drying your face that extensions are attached to your natural lashes and can be pulled out; avoid touching your eyelashes too much and they will adhere longer and continue to look lovely until your fill!

Can I wear eye makeup?

You can wear eye makeup but avoid oil-based makeup and makeup remover as this may cause the glue holding the lash in place to fail. You should not need to wear mascara as your new lashes will be dark and full. We don't recommend the use of mascara with your lash extensions. Mascara will shorten the life of your lash extensions.

Can I swim or go to a spa with extensions?

You can! We advise that you avoid getting the lashes wet for 24 hours after they are applied to allow the glue to adhere. After that, you can swim, wash your face, take hot showers and go get a facial at the spa! Try to avoid touching your eyelashes or rubbing your eyes, as this will help extend the life of your lashes.

What are fills? When will I need them?

Your natural eyelashes fall out over a month or longer cycle but within 2 to 3 weeks, enough lashes will have fallen out that you may notice your lash extensions are not as lush and full as when you first had them applied. That's the time when we recommend returning to the studio to get your lashes filled. A technician will apply new lash extensions to your new eyelashes to fill in where extensions fell out.

Fills are generally quicker to apply than the full set as there will be existing lashes still adhered to your lashes.

Can eyelash extensions be removed?
Can I remove them myself?

Eyelash extensions can be removed at any time by a professional. We do not recommend attempting to remove the lashes yourself as this can damage your natural eyelashes. Londin Lash will use a specially formulated product to release the bonding glue and remove the lashes safely and easily.
